BUET students left out the boycott and agreed to sit for exams from May 11
The students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and technology (BUET) have agreed to leave out of the decision and sit for the exams. According to the new routine of term final examination, the examinations will start from May 11. However, the exams postponed after April 20 will be taken first. The left-out tests will be held thereafter.
These decisions were finalized on Tuesday in the meeting held by the university administration with the class representatives of various departments of the university in the Academic Council meeting of the university.
Director of the Department of Student Welfare (DSW) of the University Professor Dr. Mohammad Al Amin Siddique confirmed the matter. He said, 'The term final exams will be held from May 11. The exams postponed after April 20 will be held earlier. And earlier some exams have been boycotted by the students, those will be held later.'
He also said that in the meeting, the students wanted to participate in the legal process on behalf of the university. They have also suggested the names of some lawyers. The university authorities will accept these proposals and take necessary steps to recruit them through PPR. The University will join the legal process as soon as it receives the full copy of the High Court judgment.
When asked, if the students have expressed any opinion about the class, Professor Al Amin said, 'The array of our university is not that big. So, when the exam starts in any of our departments, the students of all departments start that exam together. So now, it's our exam time, no classes.'
It may be recalled that, Central Chhatra League president Saddam Hossain along with the party's leaders and activists entered the campus of BUET at midnight on March 28, where student politics has been prohibited. The students of BUET started protesting the arrival of political leaders in the campus from the next day. The students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have been observing class-examination boycott program since that day.
